The Hunt for the Frida Kahlo Nail Polishes and Lipsticks Was a Success! - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I dearest the smell of two coats of Frida Kahlo Nail Polish in the morn (not really tho). It smells similar…victory!!
Yeah, I found 'em. 🙂 Final night. They were in these random bins on the outer edge of the beauty section near the registers, of all places, at the Novato CVS!
It wasn't a big display. It was really semi-hidden among tiny bottles of hand sanitizer and travel-sized tins of Bag Lotion (which is udder-ly fantastic, bah-dumdum!).
Thanks, girls, for helping me track these down. Your suggestion to check the availability characteristic on the CVS website worked similar a charm. 😉 That's definitely a tip to file away for futurity reference.
The store didn't have all the colors — but four of the nail polishes and five of the lippies — and they were $8.49 each instead of $7.99 like information technology says on the website, but I grabbed the blue, the hot pink and the coral nail polishes and a few of the lipsticks. And considering I have #noselfcontrol every bit it pertains to these things, I painted my fingers with two coats of the bluish shade as speedily as humanly possible (although I did make it home commencement).
I blazed through my mani with these in my living room last nighttime, and the room was kinda dark, so I couldn't really see what I was doing. I also only gave my nails nigh fifteen minutes to dry before I started doing things, so I expected my polish to look significantly worse for wear when I got upwards this morning, merely noooo! It however looked smoother than a tabby's tum and opaque — like a pro did them at a salon, instead of me, in my night living room. Sweet!
With only ii layers, and without a base or tiptop coat, they've lasted through weightlifting in HIIT course, lots of typing and several rounds of dishes, and I have still to meet a flake. Here's to hoping that these polishes and lipsticks live up to the crawly reviews on the CVS website.
Ooh! These could be the stuff of drugstore fable, babe. Like, years from now, makeup archaeologists could talk about this line with the same reverence and sense of wonder reserved for Chanel Jade and those Paul & Joe cat lipsticks from 2012.
Thank you to all the girls who kindly offered to grab me a few of these from your local CVS if I wasn't able to notice them in the Bay Area. See, this is why we're in the aforementioned makeup tribe — because when yous offer to send someone a hard-to-find nail polish and lipstick, it'south because you KNOW how much it means to them.
Sending you lot a virtual fist crash-land through the screen! 🙂
Victory!!!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
